FAQs

What information about my vehicle do you need to make a quote?
We need to know the year, make, model and if it is in running condition.  We also need to know of any items that could affect the way your vehicle can be loaded and positioned on the car hauler such as low clearance, oversize tires, lift kits, extended cabs or beds, lights mounted on roof, ski racks, dually, etc..  All of these factors can affect the shipping cost and this information will help us provide a more accurate quote to you.

When should I schedule to have my vehicle transported?
As soon as you know the date the vehicle will be ready to pickup.  The earlier we get the information, the better chance we have to meet your desired pickup and delivery dates.

Do I need to be present when my vehicle is picked up or delivered?
Yes. You or someone you designate will need to be present. The driver will inspect the vehicle and ask you to sign the paperwork.

Is my vehicle insured?
Yes. Your vehicle is covered by the transporters cargo insurance at no additional cost to you. This will cover your vehicle for any damage caused by the transporter or in case of an accident.

Are the pickup and delivery dates you gave me guaranteed?
No.  The majority of time your vehicle will be picked up/delivered on the date we provided to you. However, there are many factors involved that can affect the schedule such as mechanical problems, weather, unforeseen delays at previous pickups or deliveries etc:  We will immediately notify you if a situaton arises that will affect your scheduled pickup/delivery dates and times.

What does door to door service mean?
This means the carrier will get as close as possible to your front door.  The area you live in will determine this.  If your street can not accommodate trucks and trailers of that size and length, of if there are low overhanging tree branches or low bridges you will need to arrange to meet the driver at a nearby parking lot with ample space to load / unload your vehicle.  The driver will discuss these issues with you when he calls to verify your address and delivery time.

Should I choose an open or enclosed trailer?
This depends on the type of vehicle you are relocating.  Open trailers are uncovered and your vehicle will be exposed to the elements.  In an enclosed trailer, your vehicle will be inside with no exposure.  The majority of vehicles are shipped on an open trailer.  Normally enclosed trailers are selected to ship expensive luxury vehicles that you want the maximum amount of protection for.  It will cost less to ship with an open trailer than it will with an enclosed trailer.

Will my vehicle be driven?
The truck driver will drive your vehicle on and off the trailer at pickup and delivery.  Under certain circumstances, he may need to un-load and re-load your vehicle during transit to optimize space on the trailer.  Your vehicle should not be driven otherwise.  You should record odometer readings at pickup and delivery.  Discrepancies should be noted on the delivery receipt and signed off by the driver.

Can I move personal Items in my vehicle?
No. Carriers are not permitted to haul personal items in a vehicle and the personal items would not be covered by the carrier's insurance.  Items that are part of the vehicle such as spare tires, jacks etc. are not considered personal items and are okay to have in the vehicle.  Under no circumstances are firearms, hazardous materials, illegal substances, or contraband allowed in the vehicle.
